Start of the School Day

Start of the School Day

A gentle reminder that school grounds are not supervised until 8:45am.  The school gates open at 8.30am when parents are invited to bring their children onto the playground to wait for the doors to open.

Children must be supervised by an adult until school staff enter the playground at 8:45am unless your child in Year 5 or 6 comes to school unsupervised.  Parents are responsible for their children at this time. No children up to Year 5 should be on the playground, unsupervised. Children may not touch or use any equipment that is outside at this time, including the climbing equipment.   The school doors open at 8.45am. This allows children to come into school, sort themselves out and be ready for the start of the school day at 9:00.

Classes have specific doors through which children enter the school. Each class is assigned a door through which to enter. Each door is supervised by a member of staff who is there, primarily, to ensure that all children enter safely. Members of staff also greet children, parents and carers. They may take messages, from parents, for appropriate members of staff. Once children are in the school building the school assumes responsibility for them and their safety and well-being.
