Geography

Vision

At Reevy Hill we have adapted our curriculum as we envision a Geography Curriculum that sparks a sense of wonder about the world, fostering global awareness, cultural and environmental understanding.

Through engaging lessons, we aspire to develop young minds that are not only knowledgeable about the world but also motivated to be responsible global citizens. Every lessons serves as a stepping stone in a carefully designed sequence that progresses logically, encouraging pupils to explore the dynamic relationship between people, place and environment. In addition to this, key geography skills like mapping are developed throughout school and help pupils to develop their understanding of 'place'.  Our approach involves building on prior knowledge, fostering critical thinking and incorporating hands-on experiences, creating a learning journey that unfolds progressively and prepares students for a broader appreciation of the world around them.

Key Concepts

Key concepts which are the 'big ideas' are weaved throughout our Curriculum. Children will learn and revisit these key concepts as they progress through school to allow them to build a rich and deep knowledge of the big ideas in each subject.
