In accordance with the New National Curriculum (2014), it is compulsory for all children in Key Stage 2 to learn a foreign language. The aim of this is to enable children to develop a curiosity and deeper understanding of the wider world.

As a result of this, we have introduced the teaching of Spanish at Reevy Hill.   Throughout KS2 children will be learning to speak and understand the language through a range of activities. KS1 pupils will be introduced to the language through songs and simple speaking activities in readiness for the formal teaching of Spanish starting in Year 3.   Our aim is to encourage spontaneity of speech, for example through picture and word recognition games and by learning Spanish songs. We continue to strive to equip our children with tools to enable them to become true global citizens.
