We aim for Design and technology to be an inspiring, practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, pupils will learn to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within different contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.
Pupils will learn how to take risks and become resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Children will also learn to understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to cook. We are very lucky at our school that all children have access and the opportunity to apply their cooking skills in the Creative Zone which is purpose built for children.
Over the course of the year, each class will complete three projects which could include Textiles, Mechanisms, Structures, Electrical and Food.
