Provision @ Reevy Hill

At Reevy Hill, we pride ourselves in meeting the needs of our pupils to ensure they are successful learners.

We have a skilled Inclusion Team made up of:

  • Miss Gibson (SENCO & Deputy Headteacher)
  • Miss Sewell (Learning Mentor)
  • Mrs Cox (Safeguarding and Welfare Officer)

The depth and experience of this team means that what we offer as a school is comprehensive and enables us to offer short-medium term pastoral support for children identified through the inclusion system in school.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health

We use many techniques, resources and support to cater excellently for all our pupils, especially when it comes to their social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Zones of Regulation is an internationally renowned approach which helps children to manage their emotions, known as ‘self-regulation’. From time to time, all of us (including adults) find it hard to manage strong feelings such as worry, anger, restlessness, fear or tiredness, and this stops us from getting on with our day effectively. Children who feel these emotions often find it hard to learn and concentrate in school. The Zones of Regulation aims to teach children strategies to help them to identify their emotions and cope with these feelings so they can get back to feeling calm and ready to learn.

At Reevy Hill, we use The Zones of Regulation throughout the whole school, at age-appropriate levels through discrete teaching and check ins. We will also be using the Zones language as part of daily school life, so all staff will be referring to them, not just their class teacher.

The Hub

We also offer hub provision based on smaller group learning for those we feel would benefit from this alongside their mainstream classroom. Ofsted identified this provision as providing 'personalised support in a well-designed environment for a small number of pupils with more complex needs' (February 2025).

Our Space

We have bought into support from Our Space, a Bradford based company who specialise in providing individual support for pupils with SEND. They come into school three times each week to work with different pupils identified by the inclusion team.
