Good Morning, we hope you are all okay! This week in Maths we will set an activity each day to develop number, counting and addition skills and understanding. We hope that you will enjoy these activities; please email us on to show us how you got on!

Take care,

Mrs Metcalfe and Miss Gibson x

Today's activity is called 'Jumping up and down a Number Track'. Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to play this game outside if you have some chalks! The aim of this activity is to practice number recognition and develop understanding of the order of numbers forwards and backwards to and from 12. You can extend this to 20 if you feel this is appropriate for your child.

As you are playing the game, ask your child questions such as:

  • if we add 1 / take 1 away, which way will you jump on the number track?
  • what number is 1 more / less than...?
  • if you take 1 away, what number will you stand on?
  • if you add 1 more, what number will you land on?
  • is ... more or less than ...?
